What a great gift idea! This restoration was done as a wedding present to the Bride’s mother. The original came to me as a torn, faded print that had been buried in a box for years. You can see from the edges in the left that at one time it had been in a frame. My guess is that it was close to a window, which would have caused a lot of the fading to occur.

From a retouchers standpoint, the tears were a relatively easy fix in this case, as they didn’t interrupt the little girl, only the background. The bigger issue in this case was restoring the color to its original vibrancy.
